Sam Bloomfield
I am Sam, I look after the membership of the ILFM, and really enjoy being at the front line of communication with our members, I have been with the ILFM for over 10 years.
I left school at the age of 17 thinking of going into childcare or something to do with art; however I ended up not taking either path and started working in a solicitors firm, in Admin to start with, then moved to the First Response Unit as a claims handler.
I enjoyed talking to clients and helping them with the first part of their claim. I became an Assistant Team Leader, but after 7 months the department was made redundant. I was given my original position back until they took me to a temporary secondment with a new department they were just setting up. During that time I helped set up the department covering out of hours phones and producing spreadsheets, which has helped me develop the database we use here at the ILFM.
In 2013 I eventually decided to look for an opportunity with more promising challenges.
Very quickly I got the position of Office Assistant at the ILFM where I have helped to set up procedures and spreadsheets on the fairly new database and eventually became the Membership Services Administrator. I am now Membership Services Manager, my role includes dealing with member benefits etc. I feel this is a good career opportunity for me to be involved in a well-established company and enjoy being part of all the changes that are happening within the ILFM.
